I know I sound like I blame society for EVERY SINGLE THING, but in a sense, I do ~ but I realize I am a part of the problem.

Here too, there has been a seismic shift in priorities and it seems no one ever strives for excellence anymore. Not in any area. We are generally content to remain self-absorbed and defiantly content with mediocrity.

Fighting against this trend is definitely a "hard thing" for sure, but when you read about Paul talking about needing to "beat his body into submission," you know it wasn't easy for him either! Crucifying self in order to strive for holiness involves huge amounts of passion, dedication, perseverance, and good ol'-fashioned HARD WORK! It's NOT fun and we WILL stumble from time to time, but we only fail if we quit trying. If our goal is to glorify God in EVERYTHING we do, and if we keep reminding ourselves of that, I believe our lives will become orderly and discplined ~ and more pleasing to God ~ in every area.tammihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03803890115567631062noreply@blogger.com
